There are so many fun and impactful ways to incorporate intentional touch within a yoga space.
Hands-on adjustments and assists aren’t meant to make students feel like we’re doing something wrong; they are meant to serve as a tactile way to bring more somatic awareness to our physical bodies. Vicky believes that yoga is about the person within the asanas, not the poses themselves.
Vicky is thrilled to share her experience with the Gingko community!
Whether you are a yoga teacher or student, you can expect to walk away from the three-hour training with confidence in your ability to provide effective and intentional hands-on assists for multiple asanas.
You will also learn how to receive hands-on assists, which is a skill, and how to more deeply experience sensation within the physical practice.
We will also cover skillful ways to ask for consent.
Here are a few of the poses you can look forward to adjusting:
Childs Pose
Downward Facing Dog
Upward Facing Dog
Warriors
Pigeon
Locust
Headstand
Savasana
…and more!
We will work with varying partners during this workshop and provide and receive feedback with one another.
If you are a yoga teacher, you can count these hours towards continuing education through Yoga Alliance.
